Susan Shepard is
Director of Research & Advanced Programs at Development II. An
information acquisition and knowledge engineering specialist, she has
experience on a variety of U.S. and overseas projects for 25 years where
she has been cited frequently for her lateral thinking and ability to
bring diverse resources to bear on a project as needed. She has been
with Development II for 13 years and works closely with global clients
to design appropriate protocols and reporting for their specific needs
with an eye toward getting to actionable information efficiently.
Susan has worked with major international companies and NGO's
both on her own and with Development II as well as a private consultancy
in advanced applications since 1986.
Her professional activity has also included authoring many
articles for such publications as AI Expert (artificial intelligence and
expert systems), Dr. Dobbs Journal (software development) and IEEE
Computer Society’s IT Professional magazine. Susan is deeply interested
in challenges around the transfer of scientific information to the
public and pursues this as an avocation.
She holds a BA from Fordham University in Social Sciences and has
had extensive specialized training throughout her career.
